Somebody told me one time and it sounds reasonable. They said that the average person will be lucky enough to need to replace or install a heating system in a residential house 1.3 times in their lifetime on average. I am not sure if it is true or not but it makes sense unless you are a builder or something like that. That would say if you do replace that old furnace there is a good chance you will never need to do it again in your lifetime, and sorry to say it is your lucky day.
